1-      Have a good attitude, love yourself, and be thankful for your body. Our health starts with our attitude. As we think, our brain sends signals to our body, and an array of chemicals is released. When we think negative, stressful thoughts, the wrong amount of chemicals are released which distort the DNA and immune cells and cause other havoc-breaking consequences. Also, please love yourself (every aspect of you), and when it comes to your body realize you are not your body; you are much more than that. Your body is the earthly vessel that was given to you created in the image of your creator. Also, as you love yourself, you will love others. We can only give as much as we have for ourselves. Last, exercise gratefulness every hour of the day for your body and this will translate into joy, happiness, better food choices, better skin, more energy, and better health.

2-      Get educated about the ingredients in what you eat and drink. You need to take this one very seriously. You do not want to perish for a lack of knowledge and end up being a statistical number. Learn about sodium, refined sugars, simple carbohydrates, branched-chain amino acids, carbonated drinks (diet or not), plant based proteins versus animal based proteins, and everything that you can possibly learn. Think before you eat.

3-      Exercise. This one doesn’t have to be explained much. Exercise has innumerable health benefits. Add a routine of cardio and strength training into your life my dear friend, and do it as a life-style and not a seasonal, emotional decision that ends up in self-sabotage and more frustration.

4-      Forgive. This one is paramount. It ties up with tip #1. Lack of forgiveness is the root of many diseases. Yes, I know it is hard to swallow, but I am here to tell you the truth. We all struggle with lack of forgiveness at some point in our lives. We get hurt, betrayed, abused, mistreated, marginalized, etc… and we also make mistakes and deal with guilt and self-condemnation. We need to forgive all people and situations and accept the past as it could not have been any different. If you need help with this, get help. But please do not cover your pain with a mask because your body will take off your mask for you with a plethora of illnesses that will cost you your peace, joy, destiny, and life.

5-      Drink water. This one doesn’t need explanation, but I put it on this list because most of us still live dehydrated. When we don’t drink enough water, our bodies go to the reserve in our bladder and recycles. Yep. Imagine drinking a beautiful glass of warm urine. Drink 8 to 10 glasses a day!!!

6-      Be open-minded. Please do not close yourself to new ideas and discoveries because you already have a formed opinion about health and wellness. Be open to new ideas; try new foods, new recipes, and new alternatives. Sometimes we can get so used to what we have done, that new, cutting edge information passes over our heads and we miss things that could have changed our lives.

7-      Know and define your purpose in life and walk in your destiny. This one will change your life if you let it. What is your purpose on the earth? What do you want to leave as a legacy when you die? How do you want people to remember you? This relates much to your health and wellness because as you discover or define your purpose, you will automatically want to be healthy and free. You will want to grow personally and spiritually (which includes much forgiving by the way), you will want to eat healthy and exercise, you will want to love and help yourself, so that you can walk in your destiny without restrictions in your mind, soul, or body.

Branched Chain Amino Acids And What They Do

Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) are the “Building Blocks” of the body.

BCAAs  are the essential aminos leucine, isoleucine, and valine. The combination of these three amino acids makes up approximately 1/3 of skeletal muscle tissue in the human body. BCAAs play a very important role in protein synthesis which is the production of proteins in cells from amino acids to build muscle.

BCAAs must be present for molecular growth and development. Eight are essential and cannot be manufactured by the body, and the rest are non-essential- can be manufactured by the body with proper nutrition. Besides building cells and repairing tissue, they form antibodies, they are part of the enzyme and hormonal system; they build RNA and DNA and they carry oxygen throughout the body.

Other Functions of BCAAs…

BCAAs act as nitrogen carriers which assist the muscles in synthesizing other amino acids needed for anabolic muscle action. In other words, BCAAs combine simpler amino acids to form a complex whole muscle tissue. In this action, BCAAs stimulate production of insulin, the main function of which is to allow circulating blood sugar to be taken up by the muscle cells and used as a source of energy. This insulin production promotes amino acid uptake by the muscle.

How do BCAA’s Work?

During intense weight training the body is normally in a highly catabolic condition. At this time glycogen stores are being rapidly depleted and the liver in turn must synthesize glucose by a conversion of L-Alanine. Alanine makes up over half of the amino acid content released from muscles during exercise.

The release of BCAA’s is generally recognized as the signal to the body to stop protein syntheses in the muscles, especially during times of stress. Providing the Branched Chain Amino Acids, especially during those times of stress may profoundly affect this signal and allow protein synthesis to continue its process.

So, for those of you who like things listed, some of the benefits of BCAA’s are:

Increased muscle recovery

The Law of Forgiveness is one of my favorite laws. However every time I mention the word forgiveness to people, there is a shift in their energy. They become uptight and protective of their feelings.

After 5 years of research, I have discovered that every disease and disorder can be linked to unforgiveness.  I have personally been healed of issues such as migraine headaches, allergies, viruses, circulatory problems, by forgiving
people who have hurt me. I recommend you read “A More Excellent Way” by Dr. Henry Wright.

I once read that “not forgiving is like drinking poison and expecting it to hurt the other person”. We are the most affected when we do not forgive. This law simply states we must forgive and release our offenders in order for us to be also released(set free in our souls).

Forgiveness doesn’t mean what the other person did was right or noble, and it doesn’t mean you have to talk to them again. Sometimes relationship restoration is required, sometimes it is not. For instance, a woman doesn’t have to talk to the man who raped her or allow him in her house. Or, a man doesn’t have to do business again with the person who stole his money
or lied to him. But the offended parties must still forgive.

“The lack of forgiveness creates grief, despair, resentment, and anger within your heart and mind. It skews your perception of what’s really True, leads you to make assumptions and decisions based on false perimeters, and generates unhappiness and lack of fulfillment within your life. The wound is an incomplete energetic cycle and, if left unresolved, it is perpetuated in other relationships and situations and can eventually manifest as physical illness and dis-ease within any body of consciousness.” – Amanda Buttler.

But Damaysi, how is forgiveness related to wealth and prosperity?

Pretty much, if you have unforgiveness harbored in your heart towards others or yourself you block yourself from joy, creativity, freedom, self-esteem, ideas, etc…

Realize that The Law of Forgiveness is at work, and if you don’t cooperate with it, it will inevitably affect you, those around you, it will frustrate your assignment (or totally paralize it), and ultimatelly it will affect the next generation. How can we leave a legacy for generations to come if we spend our lives with unforgiveness, anger, and self-pity? We all must release ourselves and our offenders.

My Recommended Action Steps:

  • Start by forgiving yourself of all mistakes and wrong decisions you have made in your life. If you have never done this, you have a lot of work to do. It is not easy, but it is very worth it. It requires persistence and trust in the process, but it is your door to freedom. Write down the things you are holding against yourself and one by one forgive. There is nothing you can do but forgive yourself.
  • Forgive everyone who has hurt you, rejected you, abuse you, etc. Everyone usually has to start with their parents. Even if you had good parents, they made mistakes, said things they shouldn’t have said, and made decisions based on their emotions. Forgive them. Let it all go. Write down everyone who comes to your mind to forgive. Even if you think “but I already forgave them”, if they come to your mind, you haven’t forgiven totally, so do it again.
  • Live a life of continous forgiveness. Forgiveness is a lifestyle, not a one time event. Don’t let unforgiveness sit inside of you. We get wronged everyday. It’s just life.
  • Learn to not take offense. This step requires maturity and power. It usually comes after you have done the work of forgiving yourself and others. The power will come as you draw close to who you are and close to God.

The Difference Between Probiotics and Prebiotics

I have been wondering and asking myself for the last month
what the difference is between probiotics and prebiotics. But since “my-self”
didn’t know, I decided to finally do my research.

You probably have heard about probiotics and prebiotics as their popularity is increasing tremendously in the
scientific field for being effective agents that help regulate the body’s micro-environment. When our micro-environment is balanced, it contains healthy bacteria and micro organisms that live together withour harming us and whitout our bodies fighting them off as it happens when we have an infection. The main sites of colonization are the intestinal tract, the genital organs, the mouth and the skin. Each site is colonized differently, however, the composition of one site can greatly affect the composition of the others.

Probiotics are the healthy bacteria. When the micro-environment gets discombobulated such as when we take antibiotics or our immune system is low, the probiotic or healthy organisms can drastically reduce in numbers thus unhealthy organisms take their place. Anytime pathogenic organisms become a big part of our micro-environment, we can develop colon problems, allergies, local infections of the skin or genital area, and other immune system related diseases.

Some types of colitis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome have, in some cases, been found to be attributed to an imbalance of microorganisms in the body. Therefore it is easy to conclude that a diet supplemented with probiotics and prebiotics becomes very useful to our health. Probiotics are strains of living bacteria in their natural state or spore form (spore form helps the bacteria survive through tough times). The spore form survives the
intestinal tract and reaches the colon helping the colonization of healthy bacteria in the colon wall. This then reflects on the health of our genital organs, mouth and skin).

Prebiotics very simply put are the “food” of the probiotic bacteria. Prebiotics nourish probiotics. There are three types of prebiotics – short chain, long-chain, and full-spectrum prebiotics. The majority of the research done in
prebiotics has been done on full-spectrum prebiotics (the ones which nourish the bacteria through the colon). Using probiotics and prebiotics supplements can help our bodies’ micro-environment stay in balance so that pathogenic bacteria do not grow and gain a hold of our system (causing disease).

Some foods that contain Prebiotics are raw garlic, raw and cooked onions, raw chicory root, raw dandelion greens, asparagus, etc.
