A list of all the things I have applied in 2020 to overcome anxiety
I have experienced anxiety since I was a little girl. It has gotten worse with the years.
I have not suffered from any more serious anxiety attacks in the last year because I got serious about implementing the tools I have and I am going to share with you.
These will change your life.
1- Use the 4-7-8 breathing technique. Anxiety can not exist where there is rhythmic breathing, so this will nip it in the butt quickly. Inhale in 4, hold for 7, exhale in 8. It works like magic.
2- Write down what is really going on in your mind. Are you having obsessive thoughts stuck in a loop about an issue? Are you worried about something? When you silence the mental noise, what is left? Then ask yourself what you are really afraid of and if it is even real. Many times we are afraid of the stories we create in our minds, and we don’t realize that it is all just that – a story.
3- Take GABA. It is found in our bodies, and it is one of the most abundant neurotransmitters in the central nervous system and in the cerebral cortex, where thinking occurs and sensations are interpreted. GABA is like the natural “Xanax” that our bodies create to keep us calm. I am not supposed to tell you what to take, so this is not medical advice, and you should consult your doctor. I take GABA, and as a result, in about 24 hours anxiety completely disappears. Click here to find it in my Amazon store along with all the other supplements I recommend.
4- Meditate. Find a meditation that you like and, for the love of God, meditate every day at least 20 minutes. I have lived in both worlds – the world where I do not meditate, and the world where I do. And I like the world where I do so much better! As a result, I have changed my brain and my addictions to certain emotions and ways I used to talk to myself (in my mind).
5- Listen to hypnosis on YouTube, and relax your body. We have to learn to relax our bodies constantly before anxiety has a chance to even start. Relax your shoulders, your jaw, your butt muscles, everything. Learning to relax will really help you overcome anxiety.
6- Listen to subliminals. Actually even better, create your own subliminal. Here is how to do it: you record your voice with affirmations on how calm, peaceful, happy, supported, grounded you feel, and then you mix it with a music audio, lowering the volume of your voice recording, and you listen to it every day. I explain more about how to do it here on this episode of “The Happiness Code” Podcast. You don’t have to do this, just like you don’t have to do anything here, but this will really help you.
7- Start saying thank you about everything in your life. I mean, every single thing. I know you hear about gratitude, and at this point it is probably annoying, but please understand that the more you do this, the more your brain will rewire to release the neuro-chemicals of happiness, and you will attract more of the things you are grateful for. Practicing constant gratitude is better than any medication you can ever take for anxiety and depression.
8- Do yoga. Anxiety keeps you in your head with overwhelming loops of the situations you are thinking about. Yoga trains the mind to quiet itself.
9- Do grounding visualizations. Visualize yourself full of white light and then that light goes out from your root chakra, and it starts going into the earth all the way down until it reaches the center of the earth and it wraps itself up in the center of the earth. Stay in that energy of peace. Practice getting grounded as much as you need to do it.
10- Participate in a plant medicine ceremony like Ayahuasca. This will completely give you a new perception on your life and why you feel so anxious. I have participated in 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies in 2020, and it completely changed my life… it showed me my childhood, the love that is available for all of us, it helped me purge negative, stagnant energy that was in my body from the traumas I suffered as a young child and teenager, and I died twice and saw my body disintegrate. I experienced the peace that is available to all of us. After that, there is no anxiety that can stick around too long.
I love these 10 ways to overcome anxiety helped.
